Baby Vaibhavi, a 7-months-old girl, has been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) with Pulmonary Stenosis (PS). TOF is a complex condition characterized by four heart abnormalities: ventricular septal defect (VSD), overriding aorta, pulmonary stenosis, and right ventricular hypertrophy. PS specifically refers to narrowing of the pulmonary valve or artery, which obstructs blood flow from the heart to the lungs.
The recommended treatment for Baby Vaibhavi's TOF with PS involves a surgical repair to correct the underlying heart defects. This may include:
Surgical repair of Tetralogy of Fallot: Closure of the VSD and relief of pulmonary stenosis to improve blood flow to the lungs and reduce cyanosis.
Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) ligation: Closure of the persistent fetal connection between the aorta and pulmonary artery, which can contribute to abnormal blood flow.
Optional procedure: Left Thoracotomy (LT) Glenn shunt, if deemed necessary to improve pulmonary blood flow and relieve cyanosis further.
The cost of surgical intervention for TOF repair, PDA ligation, and potential LT Glenn shunt, including preoperative evaluation, surgical procedures, postoperative intensive care in the ICU, medications, and other ancillary services, can be significant. It is estimated that the total cost for Baby Vaibhavi's treatment at Jupiter Hospital, including the surgical procedures and postoperative ICU care, will be approximately 260,000 INR.
Baby Vaibhavi's father works as a daily wage salesperson, earning a modest income to support the family. However, the cost of his daughter's medical treatment exceeds their financial means. As a result, the family is unable to afford the necessary surgical intervention to address Baby Vaibhavi's congenital heart disease.
Given the dire financial circumstances faced by Baby Vaibhavi's family, we earnestly request assistance in securing funding or resources to cover the cost of her medical treatment. Every effort will be made to ensure that Baby Vaibhavi receives the specialized care she urgently needs to overcome the challenges associated with her congenital heart disease.
Your support and assistance during this critical time will make a profound difference in Baby Vaibhavi's life and her family. We appeal to your compassion and generosity in helping to alleviate their financial burden and provide them with the hope and reassurance they need during this challenging journey.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We remain hopeful for a positive response and deeply appreciate any assistance you may be able to provide.
