The baby was born at 30 weeks of gestation, categorized as extreme preterm, with extremely low birth weight (1.270 kg) and Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS). Immediately after birth, the baby required:
- Ventilatory support for stabilization.
- Surfactant therapy to support immature lungs.
The baby is currently admitted to MALA Children Hospital and requires a prolonged NICU stay of 40 days under intensive monitoring and medical care.
The baby’s treatment includes:
- Continuous NICU care with advanced respiratory support.
- Regular medical investigations and laboratory tests.
- Administration of life-saving medications and consumables.
- Doctor consultations and multidisciplinary care.
- Nutrition support to promote weight gain and recovery.
The total estimated cost of treatment is approximately ₹5,00,000, covering admission charges, NICU stay, ventilatory support, medications, investigations, and professional fees.
The baby’s father works as a daily wage salesperson, earning a minimal income that cannot meet the high costs of this prolonged and critical treatment. The family is under immense financial strain and urgently needs support to save their newborn's life.
