The newborn baby of Nisha was admitted to Shree Bal Chikitsalaya Hospital immediately after birth, diagnosed with severe respiratory distress. On admission, the baby exhibited symptoms of tachypnea (rapid breathing), along with subcostal and intercostal retractions, indicating severe difficulty in breathing. The baby was started on vasal proge (likely referring to ventilatory support) to manage the respiratory distress. Gradually, the baby’s breathing stabilized, with tachypnea showing signs of improvement.
In addition to respiratory issues, the baby also developed neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, a condition characterized by elevated bilirubin levels in the blood, resulting in jaundice. This condition required further treatment to prevent complications.
- Respiratory Distress: The baby presented with rapid breathing and retractions, requiring immediate respiratory support.
- Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia: The baby developed jaundice, necessitating phototherapy to manage bilirubin levels.
The treatment plan for the newborn at Shree Bal Chikitsalaya Hospital includes:
- Respiratory Support: Initiation of ventilatory support to manage severe respiratory distress and ensure adequate oxygenation.
- Phototherapy: Treatment to reduce elevated bilirubin levels, managing neonatal hyperbilirubinemia and preventing further complications.
- Monitoring and Support: Continuous monitoring of vital signs, regular blood tests to assess bilirubin levels, and adjustments in care as needed.
- Nutritional Support: The use of feeding tubes to ensure the baby receives proper nutrition during the recovery process.
- Comprehensive Care: Overall management includes respiratory care, jaundice treatment, and supportive care to stabilize and improve the baby’s health.
The estimated total cost for the baby’s treatment at Shree Bal Chikitsalaya Hospital, from admission to discharge, including all necessary investigations, doctor fees, medication charges, consumables, and feeding tubes, is approximately 250,000 INR.
The baby’s father is a daily wage laborer, earning a modest income that is insufficient to cover the significant medical expenses required for the baby’s treatment. Given the financial constraints, the family is unable to afford the necessary care without external financial assistance.
Given the critical nature of the newborn’s condition and the family’s financial hardship, we urgently seek assistance in securing funding or resources to cover the cost of treatment. Your support would ensure that the baby receives the essential medical care needed for recovery.
We earnestly appeal to your compassion and generosity in helping to alleviate the financial burden on this family, allowing them to focus on the health and well-being of their newborn.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We remain hopeful for a positive response and deeply appreciate any assistance you may be able to provide.
