Anas Khan, a 6-year-old boy, has been diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL), a type of blood cancer that affects the bone marrow and blood. His condition has further progressed, leading to metastasis in the central nervous system (CNS), making his treatment more complex and critical. B-ALL with CNS involvement requires intensive therapy, and he has been planned for an allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant, a life-saving procedure that involves replacing diseased bone marrow with healthy stem cells from a donor.
Anas presented with symptoms such as persistent fatigue, weakness, fever, and neurological symptoms such as headaches and seizures, which indicated the involvement of his CNS. Further diagnostic tests, including blood tests, lumbar puncture, and imaging studies, confirmed the diagnosis of B-ALL with CNS metastasis.
Anas Khan is scheduled to undergo an allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant at SBMT Hospital, Nashik. The treatment plan includes:
- Pre-Transplantation Chemotherapy: Intensive chemotherapy to reduce the cancer cells in the body before the stem cell transplant.
- Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant: Transplantation of healthy stem cells from a suitable donor to replace the damaged or diseased bone marrow.
- Post-Transplantation Care: Prolonged hospital stay for monitoring, immune suppression, and supportive care to manage the risk of infection, graft-versus-host disease, and other complications.
- Neurological Monitoring: Special focus on CNS involvement, with regular scans and neurological assessments to monitor progress and manage CNS-related symptoms.
The estimated total cost for Anas Khan’s treatment, including the stem cell transplant, pre and post-treatment investigations, doctor charges, medications, consumables, and prolonged hospital stay, is approximately 1,200,000 INR.
Anas’s father works as a daily wage laborer, earning a modest income that is not sufficient to cover the high cost of his son’s critical medical treatment. The family’s financial situation makes it impossible for them to afford the necessary care without external support.
Considering the urgency and complexity of Anas’s medical condition, we seek immediate financial assistance to cover the cost of his treatment. The support would ensure that Anas receives the necessary medical care to give him a fighting chance against this aggressive disease.
We appeal to your generosity to help this family in their time of need. Your contribution would be a life-saving intervention for Anas, enabling him to undergo this critical procedure and begin the path to recovery.
Thank you for your attention and consideration of this request. We remain hopeful for a positive response and sincerely appreciate any support you may provide.
