Baby Mohd Mujtaba, a 2-month-old boy, has been diagnosed with a complex form of congenital heart disease involving multiple defects. His condition includes multiple Ventricular Septal Defects (VSDs) and a large Atrial Septal Defect (ASD). These defects result in abnormal blood flow between the chambers of the heart, leading to compromised circulation and oxygenation.
Baby Mohd Mujtaba is currently on a ventilator due to the severity of his congenital heart disease. His symptoms may include difficulty breathing, poor feeding, and failure to thrive. The need for ventilatory support indicates the critical nature of his condition and the urgent need for intervention to correct his cardiac defects.
The recommended treatment for Baby Mohd Mujtaba's complex congenital heart disease involves a comprehensive surgical repair to address each of the identified defects. This includes:
Open heart surgery for VSD closure: Patch closure of the multiple Ventricular Septal Defects to prevent abnormal blood flow between the ventricles.
ASD closure: Surgical closure of the Atrial Septal Defect to restore normal circulation and prevent further complications.
Pulmonary Artery (PA) Banding: Placement of a band around the pulmonary artery to regulate blood flow and optimize pulmonary circulation.
The cost of surgical intervention for VSD closure, ASD closure, and PA Banding, including preoperative evaluation, surgical procedures, postoperative intensive care in the ICU, medications, and other ancillary services, can be substantial. It is estimated that the total cost for Baby Mohd Mujtaba's treatment at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital, including the surgical procedures and ICU care, will be approximately 250,000 INR.
Baby Mohd Mujtaba's father works as a daily wage laborer, earning a modest income to support the family. However, the cost of his son's medical treatment exceeds their financial means. With the added burden of caring for a critically ill infant, the family is unable to afford the necessary surgical intervention to address Baby Mohd Mujtaba's congenital heart disease.
Given the dire financial circumstances faced by Baby Mohd Mujtaba's family and the critical nature of his condition, we earnestly request assistance in securing funding or resources to cover the cost of his medical treatment. Every effort will be made to ensure that Baby Mohd Mujtaba receives the specialized care he urgently needs to overcome the challenges associated with his complex congenital heart disease.
Your support and assistance during this critical time will make a profound difference in Baby Mohd Mujtaba's life and his family. We appeal to your compassion and generosity in helping to alleviate their financial burden and provide them with the hope and reassurance they need during this challenging journey.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We remain hopeful for a positive response and deeply appreciate any assistance you may be able to provide.
