Baby of Latifah is a 12-day-old male neonate who is currently admitted in the NICU with multiple serious neonatal complications requiring intensive medical management and continuous monitoring.
The baby was born with a history of:
- Oligohydramnios
- Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR)
Following birth, the baby developed severe medical complications including:
- Respiratory distress requiring invasive mechanical ventilation and oxygen support
- Serratia sepsis
- Severe persistent thrombocytopenia (critically low platelet count)
- Requirement of Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy
- Requirement of steroid therapy
- Massive hematemesis (vomiting of blood)
- Melaena (gastrointestinal bleeding)
- Requirement of multiple blood and blood product transfusions
Despite these life-threatening complications, the baby has shown some improvement and is presently tolerating limited enteral feeds. However, his condition remains guarded and he continues to require intensive neonatal care.
Baby of Latifah is receiving comprehensive NICU management, including:
- Invasive ventilatory support with oxygen therapy
- Intravenous antibiotics and supportive medications
- Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG)
- Steroid therapy
- Blood and blood product transfusions
- Nutritional support and gradual feed advancement
- Continuous monitoring by neonatology specialists
Given the severity of his illness, the baby is expected to require:
- Prolonged NICU hospitalization
- Ongoing respiratory support
- Specialized medications and investigations
- Blood component therapy as required
- Intensive nursing care and monitoring
- Gradual establishment of full feeding
The duration of treatment will depend on his clinical recovery and response to therapy.
Hospital: Horizon Prime Hospital
The estimated expenditure towards NICU care, respiratory support, medications, investigations, blood products, and hospitalization is approximately:
₹4,00,000/- (Rupees Four Lakh Only)
The final cost may vary depending upon the baby's clinical condition, duration of hospitalization, and actual treatment requirements.
The baby's father is employed as a salesperson and earns a modest income that is insufficient to meet the substantial expenses of prolonged NICU treatment. The family is experiencing significant financial hardship and is unable to bear the ongoing cost of the baby's life-saving medical care.
We humbly appeal to generous donors, charitable trusts, social organizations, corporate CSR initiatives, and kind-hearted individuals to extend financial support for the treatment of Baby of Latifah.
