If left untreated, it may result in breathing difficulties, poor weight gain, recurrent respiratory infections, heart failure, and other serious complications.

Due to the significant PDA, Baby of Afnan requires specialized pediatric cardiac care and timely surgical intervention. Early correction is crucial to prevent further complications and ensure proper growth and development. The treating medical team has advised surgical correction (closure) of PDA, which is essential to restore normal circulation and reduce the burden on the heart and lungs.
