The baby of Megha, a one-month-old newborn, is currently battling multiple life-threatening neonatal complications due to extreme prematurity. The baby was born at just 29 weeks of gestation with an extremely low birth weight (ELBW) of 830 grams and is presently admitted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Despite intensive medical care, the baby’s condition remains critical and unstable, requiring continuous life-support and specialized neonatal management.
The baby is diagnosed with the following severe conditions:
- Extreme Prematurity (29 weeks gestation)
- Extremely Low Birth Weight (ELBW) – Birth weight: 830 grams
- Very Low Body Weight (Current weight: 790 grams)
- Severe Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) / Hyaline Membrane Disease (HMD)
- Severe Neonatal Sepsis
- Severe Candidal Sepsis
- Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia
- Feeding Intolerance
- Repeated Episodes of Hypoglycemia
- Dyselectrolytemia – Hyponatremia
- Rh Incompatibility (Rhincompatibility)
- Failure to Gain Weight
These conditions pose a high risk to survival and require round-the-clock NICU care.
The baby requires intensive neonatal support, including:
- Advanced NICU care
- Respiratory support (Oxygen / CPAP / Ventilator as required)
- Broad-spectrum antibiotics and antifungal therapy
- IV fluids and electrolyte correction
- Blood investigations and imaging
- Phototherapy and metabolic monitoring
- Nutritional and feeding support
The baby is expected to need prolonged NICU hospitalization until stable and able to gain weight.
The approximate cost of treatment is ₹7,00,000, which includes:
- NICU stay
- Investigations and monitoring
- Medicines and antifungal therapy
- Doctor and specialist charges
- Respiratory and life-support equipment
The cost may increase depending on complications and duration of care.
The baby’s father is a daily wage laborer with very limited income. The family has no financial backup or insurance and is unable to bear the heavy cost of prolonged NICU treatment.
This tiny newborn is fighting for survival every day. Immediate financial support is crucial to continue lifesaving treatment.
We humbly request donors and well-wishers to come forward and help save this fragile life.
Your support—no matter how small—can make a life-saving difference.
